DESCRIPTION:

An American girl finds her prince in this "fun and dishy" (People) royal romance inspired by Prince William and Kate Middleton.

American Bex Porter was never one for fairy tales. Her twin sister Lacey was always the romantic, the one who daydreamed of being a princess. But it's adventure-seeking Bex who goes to Oxford and meets dreamy Nick across the hall - and Bex who finds herself accidentally in love with the heir to the British throne.

Nick is wonderful, but he comes with unimaginable baggage: a complicated family, hysterical tabloids tracking his every move, and a public that expected its future king to marry a Brit. On the eve of the most talked-about wedding of the century, Bex looks back on how much she's had to give up for true love... and exactly whose heart she may yet have to break.

MY THOUGHTS:

Rebecca "Bex" Porter and Nicholas Alexander Arthur Edward Wales meet at Oxford. Sparks fly from the moment they meet but their lives could never be more different. Nick is in line for the throne and must follow the course of royal duty. While he is more than drawn to Bex, Nick is desperately trying to avoid the paparazzi. He also must deal with his rigid father and grandmother. Finding love in what they seem is an unsuitable person, never mind the fact that she is an American, Nick has the fight of his life.

Meanwhile, Bex, and her twin Lacey, are different as night and day. Bex is a serious woman with goals, and none of them included falling in love with an heir. That is something that Lacy has dreamed of.

Bex and Nick may indeed be in love, but that is something that is very complicated. I love how this book was written in several parts, and that it took place over a longer period of time that you would generally read in a romance. A lot of work went into Nick and Bex being together. There were a lot of highs and lows along the way.

This wonderful book opens with the wedding about to take place but it goes back and forth as Bex and Nick sort out their future. Written in Bex's first person perspective the reader gets to truly know Bex, Lacey and their parents, as well as Nick and his brother Freddie, and a few other pivotal characters.

I loved The Royal We and am looking forward to the next book in this delightful series, The Heir Affair.
