Hello everyone. I am pleased to provide my wrap up for February. While I fell far short of the goals I had set for February and for this year so far, I am trying not to be so hard on myself because I read far more page wise than I did in January. In fact, I read 3,000 more pages in February than I did in January, even though I read just one more book this month.
For reference, here are my January statistics:
Monthly # pages: 10,550
Books read this month: 39
Running total # pages: 10,550Average pages per day: 352
Average pages per book: 271
Average pages per book: 271
If you are following my blog and my reviews you might have noticed that at the end of the year I really fell off the boat when it came to reading. I dropped to 23 books in November and 13 in December. So I am really pleased that I tripled that number in January and still managed to hold on in February.
During this last week of February I developed a migraine so my reading dropped off - sort of. I am actually reading Sacajawea by Anna Lee Waldo each night. The book is 1,424 pages and I am currently on page 1,008. However, I will not finish it for another day or two so it will have to count as a March finish.
The dates I completed each book and the ratings are as follows:
My February was actually quite a good reading month, with 11 Five star reads. My two favorite books for the month were The Girl on the Back of the Bus by Suzette D. Harrison and A Woman of No Importance by Sonia Purnell. The first was historical fiction with the backdrop of Rosa Parks' experience in the 1960s and the second was a biography of a female spy named Virginia Hall. As mentioned above, I am also reading Sacajawea, and that is likely to be my first favorite finish for March.
As a reminder, here is my 2021 Goodreads goal:

So that is my February wrap up. For March I am not going to set any pressure on myself. I find the more I do, the worse I feel. Last year I was averaging about 50-60 books a month. I now realize that is not currently doable. I just want to maintain my love of reading without falling into a rut like I did at the end of last year.
Happy reading everyone!
