APRIL MID-MONTH WRAP UP

Here is my mid-month wrap-up for the month of April. I will be doing reviews for most of these books. A few will be series reviews. Particularly the Karin Slaughter Grant County and Will Trent series. I also will be writing series reviews for the J. D. Robb In Death series. Some of the books I read this month came my way via a group challenge I participate in each month, Reading Rivalry, on Facebook.

This month, in that challenge, Karin Slaughter is a featured author. So since I had her upcoming release, The Silent Wife, I thought I would read it. Now, anyone who knows anything about my reading knows that I am somebody that loves to read series from the beginning to the end, no matter how long it takes. But I thought I could just give it a go with this book. As much as I know that this author is exceptionally brilliant, as I have read two of her standalone books previously, it simply did not work for me. So I went to my online libraries and gathered all of the books in that series, which is the Will Trent series.

After I read the first book, Triptych, I realized that there was a previous connected series, Grant County. So I read that series straight through and then moved back to the second series and I also binge read that one as well. Because I fell into these series so late, every single previous book was available via audiobook.

On the 13th, after finishing the Slaughter series, I read several Harlequin books for upcoming blog tours. With those books being just over 200 pages each, those were very quick reads.

I don’t know if I will keep up at this pace, but I enjoy every moment I am able to read. For the rest of this month, I will be reading at least four In Death books, as well as books for more upcoming blog tours.
