Review: One Last Breath

One Last Breath by Lisa Jackson; Nancy Bush

My rating: 4 Stars

Rory Abernathy is a runaway bride—of sorts. Although legally married to Liam Bastian, his mother wants a wedding with pomp-and-circumstance. It is at this ceremony that Rory is attacked and the life of her unborn child is threatened. She flees, and as she does, a gunman opens fire at the wedding. Is it the same assailant?

It is now five years later and she and her daughter are still in hiding. On the one hand, Rory is certain that she is being stalked. Meanwhile, Liam never stopped looking for her. Why does he want to find her so bad? She was the one that left. His motives may just surprise you. Then, just when you think Rory's attacker is finally identified, you realize that there is so much of the story left to be told.

One Last Breath by Lisa Jackson and Nancy Bush truly has it all - an excellent plot, great characterization, superb suspense, family secrets, romance and more. What completes this book is a twist that I never saw coming. I look forward to reading much more from these talented authors.

Many thanks to Kensington Books and to NetGalley for this ARC to review.
