DESCRIPTION:

A feel-good story about the magic of Christmas… and the rush of falling in love under the mistletoe.

Single mother Abbey Fuller loves her family more than anything, and she doesn’t regret for a moment having had to put her dreams of being an interior designer on hold. But with her son, Max, growing up, she jumps at the chance when a friend recommends her for a small design job. How hard can it be?

Nick Sinclair needs his house decorated in time for his family’s festive visit-and money is no object. What he doesn’t need is to be distracted from his multimillion-dollar business-even if it is Christmas.

When Abbey pulls up to the huge Sinclair mansion, she has a feeling she might be out of her depth. And when she meets the gorgeous, brooding Nicholas Sinclair, she knows that she’s in real trouble . . .

With the snow falling all around them, can Abbey make her dreams of being a designer come true? And can she help Nick to finally enjoy the magic of Christmas?

MY THOUGHTS:

Abbey Fuller is dedicated to her young son, Max. As a nurse, she is also dedicated to her patient, Caroline. When Caroline offers Abbey a chance to decorate her grandson’s house, it is an opportunity she cannot pass up. As she discovers the enormity of the task, Abbey realizes that the income that she can earn from this one job will allow her to provide Max with a memorable Christmas.

Nick Sinclair’s family will be visiting for Christmas and he will spare no expense in having his house lavishly decorated. Money is no object, but he has multi-million dollar deals to make and can ill afford distractions.

However, time and again both Abbey and Max interrupt Nick from his all-consuming work. His facade is cracked, bit by bit. Abbey an exceptional interior designer, yet she wants Nick’s input wherever possible. Nick immediately trusts Abbey and her judgment.

Then there is Max. He wormed his way into Nick’s heart...and mine. He is an ideal little boy who simply thrives on the love his mother doles out to him. But there is a void in his life. Other kids have daddies. He is beginning to feel a bit different. It is really sweet to see him draw close to Nick.

Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses is a very sweet romance. The way the relationship blooms between Abbey and Nick is just so sweet and tender. Abbey is a genuinely kind and caring person and can definitely see the need for Nick to understand the value of family and Christmas. The way she broke down Nick’s defenses was wonderful. Nick is a very good person too. His work ethic is explained and that makes him all the more likable to me.

The conflict Nick and Abbey experience is a bit sad, but definitely propels the story forward. The story also deals a bit with extended family, and that is quite effective, especially as there were some serious moments. I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Jenny Hale. I was moved more than once while reading this story. I look forward to reading much more by this author.

This book was originally released in 2015.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

When I graduated college, one of my friends said, "Look out for this one; she's going to be an author one day." Despite being an avid reader and a natural storyteller, it wasn't until that very moment that the idea of writing novels occurred to me.

Sometimes our friends can see the things that we can't.

While I didn't start straight away, that comment sowed a seed and several years, two children, and hundreds of thousands of words later, I completed a novel that I felt was worthy of publication. The result was Coming Home for Christmas, a heart-warming story about friends, family, and the magic of love at Christmas.

The rest is history.

When I'm not writing, I'm a mother of two boys and a wife to a very supportive husband.
