Sarah is a well qualified nurse and is beside herself when she can’t reach her husband on the phone, so she calls the police to check on him. She is shocked and devastated to learn that the police have found her husband William dead. Of course Sarah becomes a suspect, and the investigating officer jumps in quickly to prove her innocence while trying to find the killer. His name is Nick and he is Sarah’s ex. He doesn’t let on that he was formerly involved with Sarah because the conflict of interest would get him removed from the case. 

Nick is not he only one holding secrets in this story. Sarah has a secret as well. She is definitely hiding something. As Sarah‘s home is now a crime scene, she has nowhere to go. Fortunately, coworker and fellow nurse Kathleen opens her home to Sarah. Unfortunately, Sarah is more than uncomfortable with Kathleen’s escalating creepy behavior. This takes this murder mystery into an additional interesting direction. 

Everyone is hiding something in this exciting latest book by Liz Lawler. While the secrets are becoming exposed one by one, there is a huge twist as the story begins to draw to a close. I loved The Nurse’s Secret as it was an intriguing and compelling read.
