BLOG TOUR - Sunshine and Second Chances

I am very pleased to be a part of the Blog Tour for Sunshine and Second Chances by Kim Nash.

DESCRIPTION:
It’s never too late to be offered a second chance at life.

Debs is newly single, Fiona is caring for her mum, Samantha is grieving, and Liv has the perfect life – or so she’d like her friends to think…

This year, these four life-long friends are turning fifty, and Liv is determined they will honour their promise to each other – made on a beach at sunrise twenty-nine years before – to celebrate this milestone together.

And what better place than a gorgeous villa where they will be spoiled and enjoy the stunning beaches, picturesque fishing towns and glorious climate of the Algarve?

But time away from home doesn’t always make the heart grow fonder. Sometimes it makes the thought of returning to your life too hard to bear. Especially with more than one gorgeous Portuguese man making hearts unexpectedly flutter...

It begins as a reunion in the sunshine, but little do the four friends know what life-changing decisions they’ll all be making before their flight home.

A heart-warming, feel-good summer read about friendship, love and second chances.

MY THOUGHTS:

Title:   Sunshine and Second Chances
Author:  Kim Nash
Genre:   Women's Fiction
Format:  Kindle ARC
No. of Pages:   210
Date of Publication:   June 4, 2020
My Rating:   5 Stars

They did it on their 21st birthdays and they are doing it again as their 50th birthdays approach. Four friends, Debs, Olivia, Fiona and Samantha, separated by distance and time, are following through on a promise made when they turned 21. They are getting together again for a few days. The destination is a beautiful villa in Portugal. The five days that the women spend together will change them forever. If indeed life offers second chances, these four lives will get a reset.

Are they content in their lives, or will they learn things about themselves - and each other - that will afford them the chance to grab at more? A bit about them. Fiona is dedicated to her mum, who is suffering from Alzheimers. Their interchanges were heartbreaking, but it is more than clear of the love and dedication Fiona has. Then there is Debs, divorced and insecure, certain that any chance at happiness is forever gone, especially  since her ex-husband Dave left her for another woman. What about Samantha, who is still grieving after a terrible loss? Lastly, Olivia, married mum of two and still looking fabulous? She seems to have it all, but is she happy?

While their hosts, particularly Mikey and Eduardo, do their best to give the women a beautiful time, rich with fine wine and the most delectable meals, emotions give way to all of them, some with far-reaching and wonderful results.

This was such an enjoyable story by Kim Nash. I felt a connection to each woman in one way or another. I loved the emotional edge that threaded through the pages of this book. I also loved the snippets of humor along they way. As things wrapped up for a marvelous conclusion, I was left with a smile on my face. I think readers are going to love Sunshine and Second Chances as much as I did as it will make for an outstanding summer read.

Many thanks to Kim Nash for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
