BLOG TOUR - My Best Friend's Wedding

DESCRIPTION:

Falling snow, sparkling champagne, and an ex that Libby would rather forget…

As chief bridesmaid, Libby knows she should be having the time of her life at her best friend’s snowy Christmas Eve wedding. But she’s at the mercy of three bossy little flower girls and she’s not looking her best in an enormous fuchsia dress. Which is a shame, as it is the first time she’s going to see her ex Rufus. The man she was supposed to marry. The man who left her alone at the altar…

As the dancing begins, and Libby does her best to avoid her ex, the snow outside falls faster and faster, making it impossible for the guests to leave. Snowed in at Lovage Hall, Libby is charmed by American Noah with his dark cropped hair and dimpled cheeks, and the two of them share their dreams and a very passionate kiss.

But when the morning comes, and the snow melts, a shocking revelation about Noah comes to light and Rufus reveals the desperately sad reason he ended their relationship. As Rufus begs for another chance, Libby’s head tells her to trust the man she’s known for years, but her heart can’t quite let go of the spark she had with Noah. Will she make the right decision for her own happy ending?

A gorgeous, romantic heart-warming read with characters that will find their way into your heart and stay there. Perfect for fans of Jill Mansell, Shari Low and Jenny Colgan.

MY THOUGHTS:

Title:   My Best Friend's Wedding
Author:  Tilly Tennant
Publisher:  Bookouture
Genre:   Romance
Format:  Kindle ARC
No. of Pages:   300
Date of Publication:   October 8, 2021

Libby's wedding is just about to take place. However, it doesn't happen. In fact, the reason for the wedding being called off is her prospective groom has been having an affair with her cousin. Six months later, Libby is about to perform chief bridesmaid duties at her best friend's wedding. There is no doubt this brings about bad memories for Libby. But, she tries to show a brave, happy face, not wanting to dampen bride Willow's joy in any way.

There is a hitch in the plan. More than one actually. For starters, when the wedding invitations went out, Libby had a plus one, and that would have been Rufus, her ex. Willow feels it would be poor etiquette to disinvite Rufus. While doing her best to avoid locking eyes with Rufus, Libby does that very thing with Noah, one of the groom's friends. Libby is hit hard. How could glancing at someone, a perfect stranger, affect her so very much? More than a look takes place, however, as a kiss happens between Libby and Noah. This kiss, and discussing her dreams certainly changes Libby in ways she'd not expected.

Snowed in, with a loss of electricity, the bridal party is pretty much trapped, affording Libby and Noah to spend a bit more time together. Could her friend's wedding be the start of a wonderful future for Libby? Maybe so. Or maybe not. There is another hitch, and this one could leave Libby heartbroken.

What an lovely story. From loss to hope to loss again. The journey was enjoyable because hope came back into the picture. I adore Tilly Tennant's books. They are always so heartwarming, so inviting and so memorable. That is exactly what readers get with My Best Friend's Wedding. Enjoyable from the start, with a wonderful happy ending for Libby and Noah.

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

From a young age, Tilly Tennant was convinced that she was destined for the stage. Once she realised she wasn’t actually very good at anything that would put her on the stage, she started to write stories instead. There were lots of terrible ones, like The Pet Rescue Gang (aged eight), which definitely should not see the light of day ever again. Thankfully, her debut novel, Hopelessly Devoted to Holden Finn was not one of those, and since it hit the Amazon best seller lists she hasn’t looked back. Born in Dorset, she currently lives in Staffordshire with her husband, two daughters, three guitars, four ukuleles, two violins and a kazoo.
