MY THOUGHTS:

Allie Foster is struggling with the fact that she has become the prime suspect in a murder. Not sure why, and with relentless pressure from the police, she is desperate. This leads her to hire the Colby Agency to help her. Steve Durham is the investigating attorney that takes her case and, with clue after clue, the two discover striking similarities to something tragic from Allie’s past. However, all clues point to Allie being guilty of murder. While Allie will do anything to prove her innocence, right from the outset Steve is also certain of her innocence.

While the Colby Agency series ran over twenty years ago, I hadn’t read any of those books. I loved jumping into the offshoot of this series with A Colby Christmas Rescue, and I plan on staying with this series, especially if it becomes another long-running series like its predecessor. When you factor in the great narration by Megan Tusing, this was a very enjoyable read.

Many thanks to Harlequin Intrigue and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
