When the other woman is found brutally murdered, there are only two suspects...
One of them is guilty. But which one?
Conman turned defence lawyer Eddie Flynn must risk his life to find out...
When I began this stellar tenth book in the Eddie Flynn series by Steve Cavanagh, I was immediately reminded of an earlier book in the series, Fifty Fifty. However, it didn’t take long for me to realize that One of Us Is Guilty is very much its own story -and what an incredible story it is! From the very beginning, it becomes clear that the case Eddie takes on will push him closer to his limits than ever before.
This time, the spotlight falls on a married couple whose relationship is quickly unraveling. Patrick Vanderpool is the son of a billionaire and a man destined for a powerful political future. His soon-to-be ex-wife, Vanessa, has plenty of reasons to be angry with him. So when Patrick’s mistress is found brutally murdered, both Patrick and Vanessa are not only the perfect suspects - they are the only suspects. But which one of them is guilty?
Eddie is representing Vanessa, but can he truly trust his client and be able to prove her innocence? Eddie Flynn is certainly not your typical lawyer. After spending years as a highly successful conman, he knows how to read people, spot deception, and recognize a lie from a mile away. As he carefully examines Vanessa’s story and keeps a close eye on Patrick’s increasingly ambitious actions, Eddie begins peeling back layer after layer of secrets.
But the closer Eddie gets to the truth, the more dangerous the case becomes. And this time, uncovering the truth may put his very life in danger.
What an absolutely phenomenal series! Somehow, each book manages to get better and more intense than the last, and One of Us Is Guilty is another outstanding addition. I was completely invested in Eddie’s latest case and eagerly anticipating what would happen next. Eddie is continually forced to cross lines that most attorneys would never even consider approaching, and I cannot wait to see where Steve Cavanagh takes this remarkable character next. If anything, this book has only made me even more excited for the next Eddie Flynn adventure!
Many thanks to Atria Books and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
