MY THOUGHTS:

Lana, a therapist, juggles her busy career with the responsibilities of being a single mother after her divorce. Despite her full caseload, she reluctantly takes on a new client, Sandy, at her business partner Ben’s urgent request. Ben explains that he has good reasons for no longer wanting to treat Sandy, but it’s Sandy’s sheer desperation that ultimately convinces Lana to take her on.

Lana has always maintained a professional distance with her patients, but Sandy’s dire situation gradually blurs those lines. Sandy is married to Mike with two young children and is deeply unhappy. Lana, initially wary of Sandy, becomes increasingly drawn in as she learns more about her circumstances.

This captivating story takes readers on an exhilarating journey that skillfully navigates the treacherous line between trust and deception. The intricate plot unfolds with increasing intensity, and Nicole Trope’s masterful dialogue keeps readers guessing until the very end. Initially, I believed I had identified the “bad guy” about halfway through, but the unexpected twists left me utterly speechless and stunned. Reading to the very end left me in a state of shock and speechless. Her books are must-reads for me, always heart-stopping and compelling. The Therapist has solidified its place as one of my favorite books by her, a truly jaw-dropping read that leaves a lasting impression.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Nicole Trope went to university to study Law but realised the error of her ways when she did very badly on her first law essay because-as her professor pointed out- 'It's not meant to be a story.' She studied teaching instead and used her holidays to work on her writing career and complete a Masters' degree in Children's Literature.

The idea for her first published novel, The Boy under the Table, was so scary that it took a year for her to find the courage to write the emotional story. She went on to publish a further five novels in Australia before joining Bookouture in 2019. She is a USA Today and Amazon bestseller in the USA, UK, AUS and CAN.

She lives in Sydney with her husband and three children.
