He’s the perfect catch…

But for how long?

Museum curator Shelby Michaels seems to be the only woman in Dunbar not chasing after the new police chief, Cade Peters. When a stranger lays claim to the town’s famous gold nugget, Shelby helps Cade find the truth. Because if the town loses this precious connection to its past, Cade’s job here is done. Can Shelby stop herself from falling for a man who may not stick around?

From Harlequin Wholesome stories of love, compassion and belonging.

MY THOUGHTS:

No library. Only a bookmobile. And the jail is so small that there’s only one cell. With the sudden appearance of someone new in the small town of Dunbar, the ownership of a rare gem, the trillium nugget, has everyone up in arms. Does the stone belong to the town or does it belong to the person attempting to claim it?

Shelby Michaels is proud to be the museum curator for tthe town’s small museum. Yes, both the town and museum are small, but the town’s board as well as its members all have a strong sense of pride.

Things get turned upside down when someone that drives in town lays claim to the nugget. This keeps the town’s new police chief, Cade Peters, on his toes. Something else is making Cade wary, and that is that many of the women in town are vying for his attention. Clearly, Shelby Michaels isn’t one of them, at least she tries to not make it obvious, but Cade definitely notices her.

With a mystery and a sweet romance, this first book in the Heroes of Dunbar Mountain deftly setting the pace for ann  engaging and entertaining series.

A place to stay…

Or a new start?

Max Volkov recently helped solve a mystery in as been resolved, the small town of Dunbar, Washington, and now he’s going to stay at Rikki Bruce’s bed-and-breakfast to write the story. Against her better judgment, Rikki finds Max becoming more involved with the life she has built for herself and her son. He’s handsome, charming and has a writer’s curiosity, all of which puts both her heart and her secrets at risk.

From Harlequin Wholesome stories of love, compassion and belonging.

MY THOUGHTS:

Max Volkov arrived in the quaint little town of Dunbar as a man not well liked. A mystery that went back a couple of generations in Max’s past once threatened the peace and security of Dunbar. Although that situation has been resolved, Max is sticking around, staying at the bed-and-breakfast owned and un by Rikki Bruce.

A slow acceptance of the towns members faces Max as he now plans on writing a book about the very thing that brought him to Dunbar. Meanwhile, as a mother to a young son, Carter, Rikki does not take that responsibility lightly. Her priorities are definitely in order, but both she and Carter are more than drawn to Max. In all actuality, it just might take Max’s presence to realize how lonely she actually is.

What a lovely story of friendship and the growing bond of love.

She loved him once…

But can she trust him now?

When Officer Moira Fraser returns to her hometown, she’s shocked to run into the man who broke her heart ten years ago! The last she saw of Titus Kondrat, he was being shoved into the back of a police car. Now he’s a respectable cafĂ© owner, and old feelings are threatening to resurface. But how can she trust him when everything she knew about him was a lie?

From Harlequin Wholesome stories of love, compassion and belonging.

Heroes of Dunbar Mountain

MY THOUGHTS:

Titus Kondrat, perhaps best described as a quintessential mystery man, is definitely keeping something very close to his vest. His secret might soon be revealed, especially as Moira Fraser, an officer in the small town of Dunbar, is keeping a close he on the burly tattooed quiet man. In face, she can’t quite put a finger on it, but Titus Kondrat reminds her of a past love named Ryan.

Titus knows who is is and who he was. Years have changed him. Fit, buff and tattooed, he is indeed a changed man. However, one thing that hasn’t changed and this is his feelings for Officer Moira Fraser.

This second-chance romance is a very sweet and enjoyable third book in the Heroes of Dunbar series by Alexis Morgan. I love the romances as well as the bonds of friendship that continue to grow as the series continues.

A substitute family…

Or a second chance at forever?

Between running his family’s bar, volunteer firefighting and becoming guardian of his late best friend’s son, Shay Barnaby barely has time to sleep. Thank goodness for Carli Walsh, the administrator at Luca’s school. Carli finds herself helping the grieving little boy adjust to his new world—and marveling at how quickly the three of them feel like a family. But after a previous marriage built on lies, Carli needs the real thing. Can Shay prove he's not just looking for a substitute mother to Luca but a love that lasts a lifetime.

A Heroes of Dunbar Story

MY THOUGHTS:

Becoming an instant parent comes to a great surprise to Shay Barnaby. Between his duties and running his bar and serving as a volunteer firefighter, Shay is truly burning the candle at both ends. His new ward, six-year-old Luca, is just beginning school, and Carli Walsh, the school’s administrator, becomes a godsend in more ways than one.

Is an instant family forming, anchored by genuine love, or is convenience the actual obstacle that looms over both Shay and Carli, particularly when it comes to their little Luca? As this is the fourth book in the Heroes of Dunbar Mountain series, a romance is guaranteed, and the journey to that cherished destination was both enjoyable and heartwarming.

Many thanks to Harlequin Heartwarming and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
