MY THOUGHTS:
Liliana Chamberlain’s life is upended after the death of her parents. Barely even able to mourn her mother’s loss, she is briefly reconnected with her grandparents. Actually, they are beyond wealthy Whisked away to an elite boarding school, Liliana must quickly adjust to a world that couldn’t be more different from the one she grew up in. Overnight, she goes from struggling to get by to learning she’s an heiress - but as she soon realizes, money doesn’t guarantee happiness.
School is hard. Secrets abound. Secret societies. And murder. Trying to fit in doesn’t come easy for Liliana, especially as she herself becomes the target of murder. This YA thriller delivers exactly what you’d hope for from a dark academia mystery: a moody atmosphere, plenty of tension, and a cast of intriguing characters. Kelley Armstrong weaves these elements together into a compelling and suspenseful read.
