MY THOUGHTS:

Welcome to the enchanting town of Azalea Lake. Cricket Darley, a living a life of contentment, found her life turned upside down when her husband of 13 years abruptly left er. Amidst the pain of her divorce, Cricket grapples with not only the loss of her husband, Knox, but also the sudden decline of her small business, Cricket’s Caregiving. The prospect of losing money is deeply concerning to Cricket.

Determined to move forward, Cricket reenters the dating scene, but her blind date leaves her cold. Disappointed, she finds herself drawn to another man in town, Hank Mayfield, whose warm eyes captivate her. However, the lingering effects of her husband’s departure prevent Cricket from finding closure. With the unwavering support of her best friend, Honey, Cricket embarks on a mission to track down Knox and finally get the answers she desperately seeks.

This delightful story introduces Cricket to readers of this sweet series by Susan Schild.  Honey’s unwavering support and her assistant Pearl’s helpfulness add depth to Cricket’s journey. Additionally, Cricket’s father’s lovable dog, Angus, a lab/retriever mix, provides comic relief and companionship throughout the story. Cricket’s endearing tale continues in the second book of the series, An Azalea Lake Christmas, which promises to be another engaging read.
