DESCRIPTION:

Have you ever been wrong about someone?

Juno was wrong about Winnie Crouch.

Before moving in with the Crouch family, Juno thought Winnie and her husband, Nigel, had the perfect marriage, the perfect son—the perfect life. Only now that she’s living in their beautiful house, she sees the cracks in the crumbling facade are too deep to ignore.

Still, she isn’t one to judge. After her grim diagnosis, the retired therapist simply wants a place to live out the rest of her days in peace. But that peace is shattered the day Juno overhears a chilling conversation between Winnie and Nigel…

She shouldn’t get involved.

She really shouldn’t.

But this could be her chance to make a few things right.

Because if you thought Juno didn’t have a secret of her own, then you were wrong about her, too.

MY THOUGHTS:

She had chosen the wrong family.

Taking residence with the Crouch family proves to be more than Juno could have ever imagined. She first learns of the Winnie and Nigel Crouch after meeting their son Sam, a thirteen-year-old boy who ultimately changes the course of Juno's life, a life with an ever approaching expiration date, as Juno is suffering from a very serious illness.

Sam confides in Juno and as a retired therapist, Juno finds a kinship with Sam. Juno was once a successful therapist, married and with two sons. However, her life has taken on drastic changes over the years and, needing a place to live, Juno moves in with the Crouch family. After overhearing a discussion between Winnie and Nigel, it quickly becomes abundantly clear that the perfect little family is anything but. In fact, a discovery that Juno is determined to explore soon will change everything for the Crouch family.

Secrets and deceit are the fiber of this thrilling story by Tarryn Fisher. Not only do the Crouches have a huge secret, but Juno has a whopper of her own. This story takes the reader down a rabbit hole filled with twists and turns and more than a few surprises. Keep reading until the very end, because you just might find yourself just as shocked as I was.

Many thanks to Graydon House and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
